The product photos provided are for illustrative purposes only and are examples; therefore, they may not accurately reflect the actual appearance, contents, color, or shape of the products and their packaging.
The temperature of the hardener should not fall below +2 °C during storage. The shelf life of the product is approximately 12 months.
Method of use
The hardener is usually diluted 50/50 with water and can be applied by brushing, spraying or soaking. Spraying should be carried out under well-ventilated conditions, taking care not to inhale the spray. The quantity required depends on the application method and on variables such as blanket density, required absorption into the material. For surface coating, 2,5 litres of diluted hardener will cover an area of 1 m2 and 17 litres will saturate the same area of 25 mm at a matting density of 128 kg/m3.
Drying is not necessary, but 12 hours at 90 °C is recommended. Natural drying is possible, but hardening of the blanket or panel may cause the hardener to spread on the surface of the material.
Areas of application
Where greater resistance to erosion by high velocity gases is required, e.g. around burner unit assemblies, the application can be used to harden the blankets or panels. A final hardening spray is often applied to the hot surfaces of furnace, duct, etc. blankets when the gas flow is high or when some resistance to mechanical damage is desired.
